TAJ BURROW HITS BACK IN J-BAY …
…and is looking mighty deadly.
An impressive display at the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay see’s Taj Burrow climb to second on the ASP World Title Ratings, overtaking nine-time world champ Kelly Slater.
Despite going down to Adam Melling in the semi’s, Taj was among a handful of inform surfers during the four-day event, eventually won by South African Jordy Smith.
Cementing his reputation as a serious 2010 title contender, Taj posted the highest heat score of the event in round four, an 18.87/20.00 handing him the Nixon Winner Take All title and a 10k diamond crusted wristwatch.
On his way to the semi finals he accounted for Kieran Perrow, Dale Staples, Joan Duru, Tiago Pires and Dane Reynolds.
He will head to California late July to contest the US Open Of Surfing at Huntington before heading to the Billabong Pro Tahiti which starts August 23.
Taj is also in the process of developing www.tajburrow.com scheduled for a September launch.
